jajk, thanks. Regarding your observations above, I hope this helps. Evaluate as you will. You were the first to speak highly of Bacon before he even arrived on campus. He is everything you said he was and should open some MAAC Conference eyes this year. Problem is that he can't do it by himself and not for 30+ mimutes. If he gets help (this year or next) he'll be one of the top players in the league.

Regarding Hall and Reid. Both excellent players but freshmen. Hall is a true point with a D1 body and mental attitude. Excellent one on one defender but needs to learn positioning on the floor in a team defense. Handles well. Problem is that he will be initially stuck(as a frosh) behind Leon and Lampley but he should see some pretty good playing time depending on how he progresses.. Reid is a very physical player with a variety of tools but again is on a learning curve. Will show flashes of brillance but then struggle . You are also right on target about Shumate. Is a battler underneath but at 6'6" (?). Hill may suprise. Can rebound and put-back. Definitely not a "stiff".Also runs the floor(like Bacon) very well for his size.Jumps well and has a large wing span. Question in my mind is his toughness underneath. No opinion one way or the other on that. Expect him to contribute from the get-go due to our lack of height. Match-ups will determine how much.

One final word on your guy Lampley. Has impressed me with his attitude and is becoming a team player. While he and Leon are small, they do play well together. Darryl still has difficulty hitting with any consistency from the outside but has developed a nice little 10' pull up jumper. Should serve him well. Exciting to watch but needs to put the ball in the hole after one of his spectacular moves. Think he's getting there. We are pretty deep. Let's see if someone blossoms.
