Wagner lost to a pretty bad team and we lost badly to a better team. Maybe we can pull an Eagles-Bengals?

The answer is clearly "no". We will be hard pressed to match even last year's win total. We are getting blown away by subpar teams. No knock on Wagner or Lehigh, but these are games we should at least be competitive. What will happen when we start playing the MAAC schedule? This was painful to listen to, even when we made a little run towards the end. How do we cause 22 turnovers but only get 21 points out of it? This will not be an enjoyable season to say the least.

From what I have seen this maybe Dunne's worst season. I realize it is early but once again there does not seem to be any rhyme or reason on the offense and no apparent scheme on defense. So far Loyal is correct in his assessment.."who will score up front?"

Had 20 points tonight. This year may be worse than KeeKee's first season when you had one guy scoring and everyone else just watched.

This is Dunne's third season, is it not? And we are still waiting for signs of recovery, yet most seem to think we are going backwards, I know I do.

I can't strongly endorse or criticize the scheme.

Why, you may ask? Simple. Most of our players, who all tried very hard tonight and did not give up, are just not talented enough to make SPC competitive in most Division One games.

Not one of our front line players are offensive threats. No one up front can create off the dribble or shoot from outside 5-7 feet. Ball movement is non-existent after the ball leaves the hands of our guards....not because the scheme stinks, but because we don't have any front line players that dribble, pass or shoot at a D1 level.

A staff of John Wooden, Pete Carrill and Rick Pitino could not coach our current players to the top half of the MAAC. I am dead serious.

To put this in historical SPC perspective, the talent level now resembles the group Bob Leckie had in his first season.

Coach recruited these players. They are young and deserve time to develop and we can't expect the frosh to be good right away......but without a serious injection of incremental talent, ready to play, coming from our two scholarships for next year (Conley and ?) Dunne's entire tenure at SPC will yield play in round MAAC seasons....that's how I see it.

I really wish I could be more optomistic, but I can't. I can only HOPE this years class and Bacon eventually develop and Conley is the real deal. This year is all about watching and hoping for player development...that's it.

Can't improve on Loyal's analysis except that our up- front players couldn't even score from inside 5-7 feet. For a change there were some pretty good entry passes from our guards but they only resulted in fumbles, travels or even stuffs. Bacon is a player but, as we all know, more of a put-back and shot rejector type. Without anyone to help off the boards his ability to free lance and do what he does best is nil.

agree on all points; no inside/outside game; Jenkins will be double teamed all season; an especially long long long season. Talent is just not there. Give the players credit for never giving up and hustling but in the end talent will eventually win. Tough situation. It will take a miracle to turn this thing around. Hoping for the best, but.......

Very depressed. Wagner's bigs were so much physically stronger than Bacon, Hill and Costner. When they were in scoring position they could not seem to get the ball to the hoop. Leon is too poor a shooter for a 2 and not enough of a floor general for a 1. He could probably back up for few minutes at either, but as a starter he does not have the goods, at least not yet. I feel sorry for Jenkins. I hope he just doesn't get frustrated by what's going to happen to him as the year goes along ie double, triple teaming. Must get second perimeter option to maybe open some stuff low. Several of Gooding's forays looked like biddy league throw ups. Bacon is just having to play out of position. Hope he doesn't get frustrated too. On to BU(ouch)

If we're all depressed, can you imagine how the players must feel?Given that BU is an extreme longshot, next Wednesday's game vs LIU turns into a critical must win.

Mike Francesa, talking about St John's, said "They're too small and they can't shoot"....pretty much sums up the Peacocks too.

Starting to look like the NJIT game will be a match up of "perfect" teams.
