Subject: Interesting sidenote

Several posters mention our second half "intensity" and even "anger" as a major reason for our second half performance. Absolutely true, but there was an interesting sidelight on those observations. As Cindy stated our three guard offense and uptempo style began the second half but at the 14:00 minute mark or so the following took place:

Wesley Jenkins, while being guarded by #1 Ron Menigault, accidently clipped him with an elbow. No foul called. Menigault, the son of schoolyard and Rucker league legend Earl "the Goat" Manigault became incensed and began mouthing off to every SPC player in sight. JD removed Wesley for a brief period but Menigault continued on Costner. Dunne then inserted Gooding who deadpanned Manigault. Appeared that this set off Menigault even more. At the 12:49 mark with LIU leading 43-39, Menigault, who had been warned by the referees, was called for a technical off the ball. Within minutes the score was tied at 49 and SPC was off to the races. Can't get inside of our players heads but that little by-play seemed to lift our intensity to that anger level. Menigault, a decent player, lost control, his coach did not remove him and our players rather than react back seemed to channel that emotion into that next level that figgy posted.
