Subject: Now I've learned your meaning of "retrospect"
In reply to: Peacock 's message, "I guess you didn't understand the meaning of the word "retrospect"" on Tuesday, December 30, 10:27:20pm

Guess my lack of reading comprehension prevented me from seeing this some three year's ago. What foresight on your part.

"Now lets correct a stated comment made recently that Dunne was hired to rebuild the program. Sorry, but Dunne was hired while Loughran was still President and was hired because it was felt he would cause the least disruption under the magnanimous President. The fact remains that Dunne was the path that would ease Stein in his last years and was a coach that would not get Loughran upset. If anyone knows about the Stein Orr connection you might understand how Dunne came to be. There were at least four other coaches that would have serve better but dismissed by Stein as potential troublemakers for him. Names, Casey, McBreen, Reimbios, Herrada. All would have been a better choice, but only in retrospect. One never knows how they would do, but they were culled out because Stein wanted the Orr man from the start. It is probably unfair to call him a bad coach as he might serve well as an assistant coach but he certainly has not demonstrated the ability to be a head coach".

I didn't have this feeling three years ago although I felt McBreen or Casey would have been the better choice. It was made known back then of the Orr connection or were you unaware that Stein wanted Louie as his first choice.
Or as I have left out Kevin Boyle whose personality turned off many, was a front runner.

Now since you took the effort to copy part of my post, what is that you take issue with. The rebuilding program part, or the Stein method of coach selection. Clarity of purpose on your part seems to constantly be missing.

It seems your intelligence betrays you again. Foresight. No, Just making the historical connections, or do you not understand the nature of history.
