Subject: Some people they should look at

Dunne is not a bad guy, and neither is anyone on the staff, but I feel they really need to do more homework evaluating kids and not looking at big programs.

I know they passed on a few kids like Travis Taylor at Monmouth, Jermel Jenkins at Iona, Isaiah Wilkerson at NJIT.

Recruting the Reids, Costners, Shumates is fine, but you can't ONLY recruit "let's hope they develop in a few years". I hope it does not seem like I am attacking the staff, because I truly like them and hope they succeed. With that being said, here are a few names they should look at if they aren't already:

Renaldo Walters 6'0 combo Cardozo - TOUGH player, who is a lead guard. Can score it and make his teammates better. Brother of former Hofstra player Danny Walker.

Jovon Moses 6'8 PF - Kilgore CC. Big man who we were once after, but chose Duquense, although he failed to qualify. Great rebounder who can def score and step out a little. Heard he is looking to make a big impact and not just go to a high school for the sake of it. Local from Brooklyn.

Halil Kanacevic - 6'8 PF - Curtis HS (SI). Big man is one of the more skilled players around. Injured during the summer so did not play AAU during the live period. Great passer who is a really good scorer, and has a great feel for the game. Instant starter and impact player. Read an article where he said playing time was top factor.

Lenny Hayes - 6'4 wing - Lawrenceville Prep - versatile scorer who is a bit skinny, but has a knack for putting ball in the basket. Pops was a 1,000 pt scorer here. Should be a no-brainer.

Chris Matagrano 6'8 - Blair Academy - Judging by his school list, will probably end up at a more academic school, but worth a try. REALLY skilled big with a large frame. Would most likely start early on. Very good post moves, good passer, and great feel for the game. Originally from Sayreville HS. Could promise of PT lure him?

Vlad Moldoveanu 6'10 transfer from George Mason - http://caainsider.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=807&Itemid=336

here's a link...longshot but has a really nice inside out game

BIGS AT EDISON ACADEMY:
Ian Chiles - 6'11 from Paterson Catholic originally - VERY VERY large frame. Lacks foot speed, but blocks shots and can actually shoot it from 15' pretty well. If you are going to take a chance on a kid, look here

Madut Bol - I only like him if people leave, as he is similar to a Shumate or Costner, except that he challenges on every play and runs the floor faster than anyone we have. He would be brought along slowly, but knows the game and not afraid to get on the glass despite size.

They also have a couple out of state bigs whose names escape me, but they are about 6'8 with really good size and can score with back to basket.

Matt Washington - 6'9 - Paterson Catholic - CC - Forget which JUCO he is at, but good student who would have 3 years. Went to Delaware State but redshirted. Good rebounder and mind for the game, but at times can get discouraged. Granted I have not seen him play since he left for JUCO, but great size for the MAAC, and if he is motivated, can definitely make an impact on this level.

Steven Samuels - 6'4 wing - Windsor CT - FAST FAST FAST. Really puts pressure on the defense by rebounding and pushing the ball. Lanky, yet slick through traffic. Starter or at worst, heavy in the rotation.

Kenneth Ortiz - 6'1 Newark Science PG - probably purest PG in NJ remaining. Can really run a team and can score it also. Would do well at SPC, although might be up and down for a year. Kid could have a big impact here

Kellen Jones 6'1 PG - Hotchkiss - think of a HS Leandro Barbosa. He does not shoot it like Leandro, but is a SUPERB athlete and should honestly be higher than SPC. Can REALLLLLLY make a team go, especially with some athletes around him. If we can get our foot in the door - dont let it out unless it gets chopped off.

Hope you guys enjoy this.

6'3

Xavier Kennedy-Churnac - 6'6 Jr. PF - Arts & Design HS (NY)-Slim big man looks and plays similar to LaMarcus Aldridge. Young for his age, he has long arms and will grow. Good offensive player who will only get better. No problem doing dirty work and seems like a great kid. Unselfish and athletic

Derrick Parsley - 6'6 PF/C - Salem HS - Probably closer to 6'5, he looks like he could be MLB for the Giants. Do not be scared off by his size. He is insanely strong and wide, but not fat. Great athlete who dunks with authority and often. Needs a go to post move, but overpowers people and finishes anything around the rim. Reminds me of Tyler Hines of UNCG, although does not possess the same scoring instincts.

Noel Allen - 6'4 wing - North Bergen HS - Sleeper in the area, another underexposed kid with a ton of potential. Long arms and good athleticism allow him to work around the rim efficiently. Ok out to 15' but needs to keep expanding the range. Great rebounder and defender who gets a lot of tips and deflections. Kind of kid you let learn for a year and will blossom with a college weight program and access to the gym full time. Always plays HARD, just needs to be taught a few things. Far more than a project, but not quite polished yet.

I remember talking to Leonard Hayes years ago at a post season function during the Fiore era. Do any of you remember those days when we actually filled the Pavonia Room for a nice post season banquet where the coach gave out awards and had a recruit in. Even a pre season luncheon with the coaches back in the day when they wanted to give the fans some info, some hope and build relationships for fundraising something that ended under Loughran and sadly has never returned.
Back to the point i digress,Leonard Hayes at that time told me his young son was going to be a player and he wanted him to come here.He came to the dinner after the 95 tournament when the affair had a full house. Hope the staff even knows about him.Hopefully they are recruiting Hayes' son and Moses but as always info at SPC and fan relations is non existant. This year didn't even get a note from the staff after giving Kennedy Club money.
If you are in position to give any of these names to the staff please inform them if . I suspect they are recruiting Moses they were on him once before.

I actually know Moses and I dont think he has heard from us. At least not in an aggressive manner. I know Hayes was being looked at during the summer, but SPC isnt looking at him as hard despite him having some really good tournaments.
