Wesley is back; carried SPC to a nice road win.

Baby step, but an important one, after the Rider debacle.

Bacon will be even more effective if Conley can help underneath next season. If Ryan continues to work hard, he will be a very good MAAC player.

A win sure feels good.

It's Miller Time.

Just returned from a trip out West but watched the game on ESPNU. Waiting for Cindy's at the game report. Some minor odservations:

#1) Akheem Gooding is by far the best player on our team in taking the charge. SPC up 2 with under a minute, Machado drives and Akheem draws an obvious charge ( no sliding, just great position). If the proper call is made the game is effectively over. My first reaction, aside from bad call, was that 5/14 teams, on the road will never get that call. Too bad for it was a definite charge.

#2) Did anyone else think that the final play of the game was a non-called backcourt violation on the inbounds pass at center court?

#3) Announcers made mention that, at one point, the Iona bench was outscoring our bench 29-3. Think we all know that we need more firepower.

#4) Hall played decently. Like to see Brandon, Nick and Wesley more on the floor together because it gives Nich more opportunity to score without the burden of running the point. However, I understand that all three are substituted for each other as we essentially have only three guards.

#5) Just a well-deserved win for the players and staff.

How is that pu...y Springer?

He wimped out at Canisius saying he was hurt in second OT.
He bricked 3 of 4 and faked an injury so someone else could shoot.

Nice win guys!

Heck of a win on the road coming back from down 10 with 7 minutes left.Wesley Jenkins found his shot again in a big way with a career high 30 points on 7-8 from three point range.Outstanding effort i thought also by Ryan Bacon on the boards against big Iona team.
Only negative was our complete lack of running any offense in the second half when Iona put the clamps on Jenkins. Even the usual non confrontational Rob Kennedy mentioned our total lack of running anything offensively settling for some ill advised shots when we saw our lead evaporate in the first 10 minutes of the second half and finally fell down by ten. As he said, Iona let us hang around and gave us a puncher's chance instead of putting us away when they had the chance. I thought Willard made a bad move pulling Clarke who was killing us inside for Springer who Bacon and the other Peacock big guys were able to handle. Leon made a big shot on a runner in the last 2 minutes after not really playing all that well.Nick seemed to be really bothered by aggresive Iona defense on the perimeter.
Key sequence when Wesley hit 2 straight threes, one from very long range bringing us from 8 down to 2 down in the last 3 minutes. We really picked it up defensively from there despite a terrible call on a blatant charge by Machado where Gooding was whistled for the foul. They also missed a goaltending in the first half on a shot by Hill underneath shown on replay on tv.
All in all congratulations to the team on their first road win of the year in conference. Now it's on to monday and the Saints curent RPI 21. Let's hope we get a big and loud turnout for that one.

Once again we fought back when our guys could have just as easily packed it in after falling behind 10 late in the 2nd half. Say what you want about Dunne, but this team keeps playing hard for him. Hopefully Wesley is starting to find his game again.

A nice win over an Iona team that could easily have 3-4 more MAAC wins. Iona came out flat and blew a 2nd half lead as they have many times this year.(The growing pains that go with having a young team just like ours)

Hope to see another good effort from our guys Monday night. If I remember correctly, we led Siena at the half last year so lets hope we can at least be competitive in this one against a far superior team.
