I think Radike does a good job for us and I am appreciative . Don't we all remember the years when we couldn't even listen to a Peacock game .

One of my two mild criticisms is related to your post indirectly. Maybe it just because of the egregious homer jobs we get from some other MAAC radio and internet guys , but Chris seems to almost too objective at times if such is possible .

The other would be a little too much in the way of stats about players , particularly those of opposition players , at times at the expense of telling us what is happening on the floor . Most of us listening , I assume , are pretty hard core Peacock and MAAC fans , and are aware of the stats he is mentioning . About the only stat of an opposing player that I have any interest in is his (her) foul shooting for the season and the game when they are on the line . Chris does this most of the time . But he does solid job overall in what are probably not the easiest of circumstances .

Re your mention of calls , I'll just refer to the Canisius game where Goldsberry got two charging calls his way by standing almost directly under his basket and falling down when Jenkins was finish ing a driving lay-up and Ryan was going virtually straight up for a lay-up after a solid pass from Nick . I hate that call when it goes against us , and even when it goes for us will say 'we were lucky on that one '. Really does look like some refs make this call in anticipation of what they expect . As Raftery says " just let the kids play on " .

I think you're absolutely right about refs calling in anticipation or just by situation. One of the worst calls I ever saw occurred back in the day at Yanatelli. The player involved I remember very clearly was Mark Murphy.

He was fielding a hard pass right in front of us. He must not have known exactly where he was on the floor, because as he went up to control the ball he kind of balanced on foot as if he was close to line and didn't want cross it. He was of course a good foot and half in bounds, but the ref, whose name I've mercifully forgotten, from the other side of the floor, called him out of bounds...all he could possibly have seen was Mark balancing and from that decided that he must have been out...

One of the worst 'anticipation calls'... Seattle, 1989, Men's Championship Game.... Rumeal Robinson was not fouled by Gerald Greene, Mr Clougherty, ... I was there by pure chance. The Hall should have won.... (brother went to SHU & played on freshman team, so I still root for them in all but 1 game a year)
