Much, at this stage, is speculation and based upon what we can gather from last season. Some can be learned from what we have seen of Jenkins and Leon and, to a lesser extent, of Bacon. Not that questions do not exist throughout, but in the frontcourt one must ask if Bacon can remain healthy, will Gooding become more consistent, and what are the capabilities and contributions expected from the newcomers?

Sure Sutton's arrival does make the long time fan salivate and dream that the elusive, dominant big man has finally been found. Ditto that we have discovered a hidden gem in Hill, who's blow out post season we pray was no accident. Or that a Shumate or Reid have untapped upside that remained hidden by their talented high school counterparts.

What is being said is, as some of us learned last year, little should be judged or projected until these kids can show they are capable of matching up or sustaining themselves against D-1 competition. If one does wish to judge on past performance, note that none, (Hill I'm not sure), have shown more than Sowell-like shooting under the basket.

While it certainly is early and thus only serves as off-season nourishment, the fact remains that the opposition will begin by looking to our backcourt until those up front can prove them wrong.

Coming off a very disappointing season and faced with many new questions should remind and caution us to keep expectations under control. Unrealistic goals, especially in the early going, will only place unfair pressure and add to criticism of the staff, something I'm certain that none of us would wish to do.

But the we can't score attitude is also just as unwarranted. I have little expectations, but as you have agreed in the past, last years team was not a six win team as reality proved and within that may be where some questions should also be made.

hopefully the questions that will be asked are substance-driven and not of the pejorative flavor.

You have always attempted to avoid issues through miss direction.

You have always attempted to avoid issues through miss direction.

Just to help you out, reality was a six win season. Now in retrospect do you believe the talent that was there should have attained such gaudy numbers.

It always amazes me how one with your intellect jukes and dukes around issues that might cast you in a poor light. As for a pejorative flavor, one might consider that most of your opinions are of that nature when one looks at the SUM total of the reality versus the SUM total of your comments.

Always assuring to know you will not disappoint. Ill's of last years can be placed on a number issues/individuals.

Why is it that I always see a single minded/predisposed purpose behind your remarks? When one can not provide balance and support to an argument, perhaps from frustration, you simply act to accuse the other of misdirrection.

When a person doesn't have the balls to address an issue they resort to BS. You have never provided balance always providing excuses and contrivances for your logic. Even now you hide behind the statement "can be placed on a number issues/individuals" without any commitment to what you mean. God bless spin control, you certainly posses it.

And when it comes your insight into my "single minded/predisposed purpose" you refuse to even bring up issues that have been part of the performance through the last two seasons. Strange how you ignore your own "single minded/predisposed purpose", but choose to accuse others of traits that are dominant in your posts. Guess they are right when they say the best defense is an offense. Since I only suggest that some change of style occur, you go ballistic with your physco-analysis which shows your tender spots. I guess in your world, asking questions of management is a forbidden topic. No wonder the country is so screwed up.
