Nothing to do with logic, just pragmatism. John will suffer considerably from a single digit season, putting his job squarely on the line the following year. Still, not necessarily convincing that others can perform better given the legacy left by the last regime.
"Recruits don't look at the schedule, they look at the won lost record of your program".
True in small part. Easiest measurement for kids to digest is the quality of the league as described by their "handlers". W/L is next since most kids are really not up on schedules/opponents.

Dunne was left with more than adequate talent as a legacy. The fact that he did little to nothing with it does not vaildate your premise. As I said you violate logic constantly.
While I agree with your 2nd part, a coach has much more influence than you want to admit. One needs only watch the change at some other MAAC schools with a change in coaches.

Of course a coach has a great deal of influence. You find a measure that tells me how much. Those above do make a difference. Gonzalez tested the limits while Byrnes (sp) looked the other way. Same with Iona in their better years. Even Loyola has allowed more leash for Patsos. Give me a first class facility and I too would become a better coach (see recruiter/players).
