In a road game they figured to lose the Peacocks lived up to expectations.
With the front line scoring only nine points, the team being outrebounded 44-22 and shooting 26% for the game,12% in the first half while being held to 12 points,it's hard to find positives.
I guess committing 14 turnovers to Rutgers 29 is reaching, but it would have been a lot worse if those numbers were reversed.
SPC did play solid D in the first half holding Rutgers to 26,but that small consolation when you only score twelve.
Best player for St Peter's today I guess was Leon whose 15 second half points(17 total) were the result of penetrating and getting to the line for a perfect 7-7.
A mere six assists was a result of big men who again couldn't finish inside, being blocked 12 times.Neither was Jenkins off shooting night 7-23,a few of which came after the game was decided.
Could be another tough one on the road at Fairfield, before we return to home on Sunday vs Canisius. This is a team that has been playing decently, but who were picked to finish below us in the MAAC.Like LIU,it is a game that we have to win to be respectable.
On a lighter note, the Sporting News version of the box score had among its errors,Lampley missing his only shot, and Shumate grabbing a rebound.

The less said about today's trip to Piscataway, the better.

You are right about needing to protect home court next Sunday against Canisius....who did beat St. Bonnie's on the road earlier this week.

Anyway, this year is all about player development....Bacon was in foul trouble and neutered as a result; Hall looked overmatched (Rutgers does have good guards); let's hope this was a learning experience for Hill and Reid.

Our guys try hard; the players deserve credit for that. There's just not enough talent at this stage, especially up front.

And St. Bonnies beat Rutgers at Rutgers.
