Subject: Excerp from Carino Blog

"4. From the “yikes” department: In Sunday’s game between Rutgers and St. Peter’s there was a stretch of 5:25 during which neither team scored a point. My colleague Ryan Dunleavy, who covered the game, said St. Peter’s looks like a five-win team this year. Rutgers coach Fred Hill needs another lineup shakeup before the Scarlet Knights’ season slip-slides away. 29 turnovers against a five-win team is unacceptable."

After 3 years this is what you get.

We handful of posters grasp at hope for the future in terms of "baby step" frosh/soph development......because that is the only potentially positive aspect of this trying season. I do believe all the posters here are realists. We know Corino is right.

If Coach Dunne's "good practices", "working the right way", etc. don't translate into better results (.500) on the court by NEXT SEASON, well, I think we all know what would happen in most Division One environments. My opinion is we need an impact front line player, not playing now, active on the roster next season in order to reach .500. Let's hope Dunne lands him.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record:

Prez was inarguably asleep at the switch allowing Stein to grant Dunne's TWO YEAR extension......there was no downside to having Dunne sing for his supper this year....plus a one year extension MAYBE.......approving two more years speaks loudly about the Prez' (lack of) focus on mens hoops this past spring/summer.

How long this level of ineptitude on the court is accepted, if it continues into next season, will tell us all we need to know about the extent to which the Prez prioritizes re-building the Peacock program.

I sincerely hope the Prez has his eye on the ball. Actions speak louder than words; we'll see. Let's hope we somehow turn a corner and this all becomes moot.

Concur with loyal. Truth be told, JD was not the choice I would have made but I don't get a vote. But he's the guy running the uniforms you root for so you back him and his efforts as hard and as long as you can. But as loyal indicates at some point choices get made and progress in several areas must happen for everyone's happiness.
