Re: Thank Goodness -- SPC Fan, Thursday, December 11, 10:16:32pm [1]
Agree with both of the above posts on all counts.First half was one of the worst halves of basketball i have personally ever witnessed at any level. Only criticism i have coaching wise was the constant shuffling of players ,no one seemed to get more than 2 minutes at a time , i thought never allowed anyone to get into the flow of the game or get untracked.
Defensive intensity of SPC in the second half especially Gooding, led to turnovers and created offense where none existed in the first half.Aggresive play of Leon driving to the hole getting fouled led to points.
Thought Bacon was outstanding in limited minutes due to fouls, also Costner continues to improve and is very comfortable at the high post where he excels using his passing skills and court vision and can hit the open three when it is given and continued fine play of Hall show some ray of hope.
One key sequence was a near turnover by Traore at the high post with Costner underneath led to a bad shot. Next time down they switched Costner up top hit a nice 3 from the top of the key to open up the lead to 9 at 39-30 to illustrate the point.
Our priorities should be a post player to help underneath, maybe Conley will help there and i think a wing shooter who is 6-5 or 6-6 for next year would really help the offense.
