Academic Progress Report... progress toward degrees by athletes in the various sports.

Yes, just reading the report at NCAA.Org

Immediate penalty in Men's Basketball of 1 scholarship.. Manhattan & SPC. If anyone cares, Southern Cal & UAB got penalized 2.

For the report itself. I understand below 925 subjected a school to penalties, barring other actions to remedy the situation

This stems from the Leckie era for non-graduation. With the "defections" we have seen since then expect this problem for amny years.

Yes Peacock but lets not blame Leckie for all of the sanctions. As I recall there are four criterias for the APR. One of them being retention. So chasing players off the team will come back and affect them. Also graduation, eligibility and one other factor. I believe it goes back four years. One penalty is scholarships with a year to correct the low score. Then post-season play will be another penalty, practice time cut etc...

Dunne is going to have to be responsible for his contributions to retentions. But with out even blinking, non graduates as Thompson, Watkins and Sowers contribute more than the retention issues. If you want to cite the supposed defections as rumored, you easily have Dunne also to blame. But Leckie was rather negligent in monitoring progress towards graduation. Dunne may drive them off but he does appear to want decent students. Under his regime most likely only McRae, (Leckie recruit), will not graduate with Owes, Spann, Brock and Martin all still going for their diploma's at other schools. Even McRae is at a JC in Wyoming.

Ther current report covers the last three years of Leckie and the first year of Dunne. So basically the penality results mainly from Leckie's years. Now because the 2004/2005 year has the major problem, we might fall below the 925 next year. Our number this year was 918.

APRs for Iona was 910, and 921 for Siena. They were not penalized. Not sure what the reasons were but I think it might have to do with graduations.
