Subject: From Jay Bilas-

Quoted in an article by Adam Zagoria of SNY about local BE teams:

"You've got to have support from your athletic department and your president," he said. "The coach is the easiest one to blame. A lot of these places that we're talking about have had multiple coaches over the years. There are a lot more reasons than just the coach as to why [they've struggled]."

While that is true overall, there are a many instances right here in the MAAC providing evidence different coaches make a huge difference.....even with similar levels of institutional support immediately before and after the coaching change:

Kelly-Dukiet (old school)
Lanier-McCaffery (Siena-recent)
Whoever-Patsos (Loyola-recent)
whoever-Mihalich (Niagara-recent)
Magarity/Brady (Marist-recent)

In any event, Coach Dunne has shopped for the groceries, now he has to produce a decent meal. The next two years will tell the tale, though I think there will be a clear indication this season....specifically the development of last years frosh.

It's true for the athletic department as much as it's true for the math department. The administration has to want it to be a success and actively be involved.
