I'm beginning to wonder if I will ever see another winning season. This year opened with hope for maybe a two year turnaround. But now?? Lampley has some ability and athleticism, but the bball IQ of a flea. Leon gets turned and therefore trapped far too many times. Dribbles with no purpose- note idiotic 5 second call again tonight. Gooding doesn't even draw a defender anymore as they slough off on Sowell, who now stopped making layups. Orta's limitations in his game remain essentially as they were 2 years ago eg too slow and inconsistent once he is forced to bounce the ball.Right now the future seems to sit on whether Lampley grows up and Bacon, Costner and Jenkins working hard as well as Hogga and perhaps Mumford. Generally pretty depressing performance and Sunday could get real ugly.

Let's keep some perspective on it. We played last night without two guys in the basic rotation. Two others are playing hurt and Sowell got(or maybe, better said, was gotten)into foul trouble in the first two minutes. Weaknesses can tend to get magnified in those kind of situations. Most,if not all,of our guys learned about the great fun it is to win on the court during their high school careers. This year to date they are seeing that bb and life has another side to it. Hopefully they realize that there is a lot to be learned from both winning and losing. I hope that in each game for the rest of the season they can draw on their successes from the past and learn from some of their mistakes this year. The three seniors and and all of the young guys deserve our support through this adversity.

Whether or not you will see another winning season probably depends upon how old you are!You give a pretty fair evaluation as to the current state of the squad.
To this point the new players generally underperformed relative to our expectations, which were high.
Most were wrong then,my hope is that most are wrong now in their predictions of the future ,as the depression has become contagious.

CC, as one of the oldest of the posters, fans here I appreciate the wryness in your comment about a winning season. But let's not add our concerns about mortality to the players' already burdened shoulders (LOL)-first time that I have ever typed that, maybe I am not as old as I think some days.I certainly would be in that list you mention about being a tad bit optimistic entering this season. But still believe(hope) that it can still be turned around sufficiently to have the young guys embark on next year optimistcally and to send the three seniors off with some more pleasant memories. I think those old buddies,Nietzsche and Sinatra had things to say and sing about these travails. On to Rider!

Thanks for the reassurances, but at 57 with a bad ticker you see my concern especially with I think only real anchor types in Jenkins and Bacon. Costner and Hogga have good work ethic but need their games to expand and I think they both will. Floor leadership, decision making and a presence in the paint at both ends are a plague though. One more thing, I really support Coach Dunne, but I wondered why he put Sowell back in with 2 fouls at 7mins left and the game tied at 19. He played 2 minutes more which did not seem wise when risking a 3rd foul and SPC had just bought about 11 minutes of a draw without him. Is Joe DeMayo bad or what? Thoughts anyone?

Joe De Maio is a terrible official.Does a lot of our games year in and year out and is consistently one of the worst i see.
