Women's basketball. Softball. Men's soccer and now baseball.

No one denies that the administration has been, to say the least, disinterested in athletics but those that argue that the dismal performance of the men's basketball team is largely the result of that lack of administrative support must explain why these programs have been so successful in exactly the same environment.

The school has not been very supportive but in many cases coaches can be successful. Probably Granelli, the last two soccer coaches and the recently deceased softball coach showed that under the oppressive athletic management, success can be had. Now the current President can not be measured as yet as there is no such thing as an instant turnaround, but evaluation of the present coaches can be made independently of the administration. It would appear that some will never question a coach always choosing to remain in the little picture of the players. For whatever reason, questioning the competency of a coach does not mean you need to get rid of him as he too could change, but they refuse to even consider that. Therein lies the problem as they worry about the lack of a Point Guard and not the one who chose the players for that position.
