I can understand some the negativity and pessimism that permeates so many posts given the W and L record this year and the poor performance in the MAAC tournament game. But I guess being a glass is half-full person, I think it is being way overdone now.

Loyal, I agree with so much that you post and it is difficult to disagree with most points in your post here. But I guess I do depart in terms of what it doesn't say and ,more importantly , in terms of its implications. I think the positives should be stressed in terms of Wesley Jenkins . He made the all rookie team and certainly it is debatable that he shoud have been co-rookie of the year instead of Gavin. And I believe that was as the youngest starter in the MAAC. He played Hasbrouck fairly even in the the second Siena game both in terms of seeing the game and the stat line. I have a feeling that you probably agree largely with what I have said but I would just like to emphasize it in terms of all the negativity we are seeing here. We have at one position at least as solid a player as any team in the MAAC and for next three years. I would also say in terms of Ryan Bacon that while he would not have been in the top seven at his slot this season' he may well rank fairly high next year given the number of bigs departing this season and his quality as a player and competitor. So to me these two players alone out of one recruiting class merits more optimism than is being displayed right now on this board.

Add to that the hope that Hogga returns. Maybe he will not be more than a role player but I saw enough out of his play in parts of the SH and RU games to know that maybe he will be a starter someday and even if not,he is surely the kind of player I would want on my team. And even tho Gooding's numbers may have been down this year, I think that he improved as a player. Now to the part of the post that be a touch controversial. I remain quite positive that Lampley could still prove to be solid MAAC point guard if Darrell gets better and if Dunne uses him better, Certainly if we can play more of an up tempo type game. He did have a much tougher year adjusting than I anticipated but college PG takes time with many just as pro QB. I know that some of my Giant friends have now forgotten many of their criticisms of Eli only months ago. The kid is just too talented and I for one pray that he is back with us to give it another shot.I know that many will disagree here but I am willing to go on record and be wrong another year.

Certainly,a valid question here would be if so many things are so positive , how did this year happen. But I will leave the negatives to others. Yes ,a long way to go but we'll get there. Or not. But even then, most of us will keep rooting.
