John Shumate is his uncle. He lived around the corner from me and we grew up together playing basketball at the Fulton Street playground in Elizabethport. John played for Thomas Jefferson H.S which is now Elizabeth H.S. and of course he went on to play for Notre Dame and then the NBA. I played against him many times because I played for St. Patrick's. He was a force in the paint and I can still remember him blocking some of my shots when I tried to penetrate. We're still friends and keep in contact.
Jamin is a little raw, but he has a tremendous upside and can jump out of the gym. Kind of reminds you of Devon Thompson, but Jamin can make the 8-10 foot jump shot.

2 points vs. Marist last night. He is 8th or 9th man as a senior. I wonder if David laurie has the grades. He is not mentioned being looked at by anyone. 6-6 player.
