they sometimes get taped over! I really don't have the money or storage space to compile an entire "video library" of every "XF" episode ever aired. So I basically record them when they air but unless it's a *REALLY* good ep, I usually tape over it a couple of weeks later. And sometimes some of my favorite episodes get taped over when my husband or kids sticks one of my "XF" tapes in the VCR to record something different, despite the fact that the tapes are clearly marked with "Mama's X-Files Tape. Do NOT record over."
In the past, we usually got almost every episode repeated during the summer months. There are usually one or two eps that they "save" to rerun during the next season or something. But, this year, there are about half a dozen eps that we saw last spring which we apparently won't be seeing again anytime soon.
