I'm very very happy that there will be an eight season and that DD will be back for some episodes, but it feels kind of wierd. Going into this season, I had resigned myself to the idea that this was the last season. I wonder if I was a happier phile when I didn't know about all the network negotions. I wrote a fairly pissy post on the S7 board partly about how unhappy I am about the new mythology. Unfortunately it seems that the finale will offer Carter "new directions" for the X-files, and he will surely take them. Somehow these new directions seem less in interest of the creative avenues for the show than the interest of the ratings game and what the writers can try to make work.

Oh well. I definitely will be on board watching Season 8, although I think I would have watched even if it was just GA, for loyalty's sake.

Good to hear that DD settled his lawsuit too.
