Interesting posts--Here in Minnesota, USA we have long cold winters. The joke here is that if we have a couple of really warm days in April or May, we hope that winter is NOT just around the corner again!
St. Andrews--do you golf? I have watched golf tournaments on the TV and your courses look awesome (tough but awesome!) Those heather roughs would kill me pretty quickly!
I agree about the sports figures pay--what is irritating is when they have no committment to a team and are only playing for the money. The Minnesota Twins are the team that I follow and we have had a few really good players stick with the team until they retired--even though they could have gone elsewhere for more money. These guys are worth more than they were paid. The crybabies are the ones that I really get sick of listening to. As far as movie stars--they come and go. They might be popular or the fans might not support their work. I wouldn't mind making that amount of money in the space of 10 years!
