So now we're up to "Monday" which was pretty good. The whole ep kind of reminded me of the TV show "Quantum Leap" with Mulder, like Sam in "QL", trying to "make things right which once went wrong". When the ep first aired, I remember a lot of people on the boards also compared it to the movie "Groundhog Day", so the concept was somewhat derivative but the execution was good.
Mulder and Scully were both very much in character, with Scully writing off all of Pam's warnings as the raving of a lunatic, but Mulder eventually being willing to believe her and thus jumping them out of the rut they were all stuck in.
I also think it was pretty shippy in a subtle sort of way. In the scene where it played out that Mulder was shot, there was an enormous amount of tenderness and concern in Scully's face as she cradled his head in her lap and tried to stop his bleeding with her bare hands. Also, the whole idea of her taking his check to the bank for him is just very "wifey". . .kind of like when she packed his suitcase for him in "Detour".
I think the best thing about this ep may have been something we shippers didn't appreciate 'til a year later, though: it established the precedent that Mulder *normally* sleeps in pajamas, so when we saw him sleeping apparently naked (definitely bare-legged and bare chested, anyway!) in the teaser for "all things" we knew there had to be a REASON for him to have slept naked when Scully spent the night at his apartment!
