I agree with you in that this was more of the "whodunnit" sort of mystery with a taste of the XFiles--yet still in the realm of being a possibility. Pinker was one nasty villain but he was somewhat human too in that he wanted his son.

In so many of the episodes we seem to see the seamier sides of society, the dark secrets and covert conspiracies which probably do exist--just not in the shapes and forms we were given to see.
