it seemed to me that CC was tring to get three other shows going along with XFiles. Harsh Realm and Millenium never made it past two years ( think HR only made one season). I suspect that TLG was his last ditch effort for another successful series and when it was pulled there just weren't anymore stories to tell. I know DD said that the XFiles were done because they "ran out of stories" which may be true. However I think that CC was either getting bored or was riding his success train for as long or as far as it would go. I was reminded of a little kid who didn't get his or her way in a sandlot sort of ball game--you know the kind where kids bring their equipment. He was the kid who just took his ball and went home, leaving everybody else stuck.

I have no clue what he is working on now but my guess is nothing.

I liked this episode for all of your reasons and also because I enjoyed watching how well these three characters could work independently as well as within any sort of XFile connection or theme. Their language was clean and their manners around Scully were fun to watch. I guess I miss them almost as much as anybody else.
