you have to wait until 16 in most states and still may need parental permission to do so then. Her suggestions are right on the money, honey. If you two are meant to be together, you will be--when you reach 18. You will need to finish school as one never knows what can happen to a spouse. I have seen it happen all too often that the wife has NO education, the husband dies or is killed somehow leaving her extremely poor. My suggestion is to finish high school--work as hard as you can and be satisfied that you tried your best. Go to a vocational school or technical college for a little more training in some sort of work that will let you earn enough money to support yourself if needed. In today's economy a large number of women are working outside of the home just to help pay the bills.

One more thing, there was an article in the paper last week which described a 20 year old who kidnapped a 14 year old girl, claiming he loved her and wanted to marry her. She was found and returned to her family--lucky her as she could have just as easily been killed and left along a road somewhere. Be careful and wait for your own safety--this could have been you.
