I have all seasons 1-7 on dvd because I'm obsessed. I did get a good deal on them, not the $150 bucks they quote. Go to Canadian site totalactionuniverse.com and you can get each season for about $75 US. Anyway, to my point, as you may already know, I disagree with the reviewer. Creative swan song? I think S7 sucked. There was no creativity, or just bad creativity (IMHO). Yes, Hollywood AD was creative, Requiem is the best ep of all time, and Signs & Wonders was good. S8 and S9 had some duds (Salvage, ick) but they were still creative and brought new life (and new romance, tee hee:) to the show. S7 was "drab" and I don't care if anyone calls the last 2 seasons a "melodrama," but they weren't "drab."

According to Webster, melodrama: "extremely exciting but badly-written play which emphasizes violently alternating passions"
melodramatic: "arousing violent emotions"

Badly written in some parts: yes
Arousing violent emotions/passions: yes, I violently love S9, and others violently hate it!
Extremely exciting: We couldn't get enough of it!
