It's pretty pathetic that schools have to do that--the whole purpose of an intro class is to present the topic/subject and then let the student decide if they are interested. My daughter started out in Music Education and ran into one of these in a 101 class. The sad thing is that there is such a shortage of music teachers and this stupid bimbo has decided to control who gets in. She has it all wrong--The schools should be training teachers and leave the hiring up to the schools. Just because one has a license doesn't mean that you have to hire them if they haven't performed well in ALL their classes and practicums!
