Her bedroom is dark, thanks to the black-out curtains she'd had JD install for her beauty sleep. She stretches and yawns, then rings the little bell by her bedside. JD and Clark instantly appear, both clad only in maid's aprons. KS sits up and claps her hands and tilts her head to one side.
"Don't you boys have something to say to me?" Both burst into the happy birthday song.
"Don't you boys have something to give to me?" Clark promptly hands her the special KS birthday issue of the Noromo Gazette and a rose. JD settles a breakfast tray on her lap with a croissant, a pot of his own homemade strawberry jam and a steaming latte. KS rubs her hands together merrily and then cocks her head.
"Is that singing I hear coming from the direction of the Klub?"
JD coughs behind his fist. "It's your clock radio."
"Oh."
JD walks over and turns off the alarm. KS frowns. She hadn't even heard it, but she refuses to give in to her need for hearing aids. After all, 45 is only middle-age! It's not like she's old and falling apart, like her sister.
"So what are the festivities for today?"
JD and Clark look at each. JD nudges Clark forward, who shoves him back, and soon the two are rolling on the floor. KS sighs heavily, pushes the two away from the closet door, and starts getting dressed in her birthday cami's, which are pink.
