KS really began to see stars. Laying on the bottom of the steps to the Klub, she found herself looking up into the darkening sky. With her head aching she watched Venus slowly spin in circles. Suddenly she felt the ice pack on her huge lump and looked up into her sisters eyes as Kande held it in place.
"What happened to you?" Kande asked, surprised at how her poor sister looked. "Thanks for straightening my door, by the way" she said kindly "I hope you aren't mad at me for being in the way!"
"No problem--it's not you who's number one on my list" KS mumbled to a quite puzzled Kande "and I will get him this time."
Back at CW's kitchen, the now quite dead glob in the formaldehyde still was unidentified. "I'd better take this over to Stardoe's lab and see what she can make of it" she thought. "If that fails, off to the library and Rabid's private collection of odd books. Maybe she can help!"
As the party time drew near, CW put the jar in a paper bag and picked up Kande's present. "Stardoe's first though" she thought as she walked up to Stardoe's front door. "Hope she's home--she's been gone a lot lately" she muttered to nobody in particular.
Stardoe answered on the first knock and the pair went down to the lab. "Nice specimen--where did you ever get this?" asked Stardoe with a raised eyebrow.
"KS gave me a drink from the Klub and somehow it just didn't look or smell right" answered CW. "Hope you can figure out what it is. I threw it into the formaldehyde when it started to change shape."
Stardoe locked it in her secret safe and asked "do you have it--Kande's present?"
"Sure do and I hope she likes it" laughed CW. "KS will probably have a fit but then Kande has a good sense of humor--might as well start her off right!"
"But do they make these in an assassin's style too?" asked Stardoe.
"Don't know but we could check. That would be quite a challenge to find!" answered CW as the pair walked quickly to the Klub.
