..we all just want to bury our head against someone else's bosom. Male or female. What I like about this sort of reassuring hug is that Scully found that she could 'safely' (without ridicule) show that sometimes it was hard to cope. Their job is stressful and it's not surprising that every now and then one or other of them loses their grip and is affected by circumstances. I think Mulder was also open to receiving the comfort hug too at times and who better to get it from but Scully.
