"True, but since we're in the middle of winter and the days are short, you'd think we'd see even more of her," reasons Kenamom. The crowd nods in agreement, unable to find a flaw in the mayor's impeccable logic.
"I know she hasn't had the library open during daylight hours," mumbles kande. "Hey, some of us go to bed early and can't get to the library during her wacko business hours to return books! Why should I have to pay a fine? Huh? I ask you?" Kande folds her arms as she harrumphs.
"Because you could use the after-hours drop box?" CW looks at kande over her half-glasses, then shakes her head as if she's looking at a pitiful sight.
"Oh. Is that what that's for?" Kande slumps as she realizes her error. "D'oh!" she says as she slaps her forehead.
"As fascinating as this discussion is," Kenamom rolls her eyes as she speaks, "it doesn't tell us where Rabid is."
"I propose we organize a search party." Stardoe hitches up her gunbelt. "We'll split into groups of 2 or 3 and turn the city inside out until we find that rascal."
Kenamom nods approvingly. "That is an excellent plan, sheriff. Who knows - we may be on to something else in a few days and completely forget about Rabid! Ha ha!"
