"I'm the editor of the Noromo Gazette," she holds out a limp hand to SMH and smirks. "I don't believe you've visited our fair burg before?"

"Uh...er..." SMH starts to back up in a vain attempt not to continue to be in the Shipperville city limits. KM grabs her elbow in a firm hold and propels her towards city hall, attempting by any means possible to hold onto a potential tax-paying citizen.

"I'm the Mayor of this fair township," KM informs her, waving her hand around vaguely to include Shipperville and beyond. "Perhaps we can interest you in a job and a mortgage?"

"Isn't that a little fast?" SMH whispers, trying to loosen the death grip KM has on her elbow and noting with horror that the skin appears permanently dimpled and starting to turn blue.

"Nonsense, my dear," Kande tells her with a false note of bonhomie and fare-thee-well. "I have the want ads right here and I've even circled a few that I think you will find suit your particular strengths."

SMH takes the proffered ads. "Horny alien seeking SWF to...that's disgusting!" she drops the ads in horror and scrubs her hands against her pants.

Kande picks up the paper and peers through her extra-strength granny glasses at the circled ads. "Oops, ha, HA! Bubba must have got ahold of these when I was pouring a diet rootbeer for KS."

SMH immediately perks up. "KS lives here? She actually lives somewhere in Shipperville?" She looks around in an interested manner.

"Why, you didn't piss her off, did you?" KM asks guardedly. "There wouldn't be any reason for someone to pay her to bump you off, would there?"

SMH waves KM away from her. "Are you kidding? She's a celebrity." She starts digging in her backpack. "Now where'd I put that camera..."

KM and Kande look at each other, mystified. "KS, a celebrity?" the query in unison.
