"Look," JD drawls, "I don't make the rules. You are under arrest and we have to ask you a few routine questions."
"I take the Fifth," Rabid snaps.
"No drinking!" Stardoe informs.
"I mean the FIFTH ammendment!" Rabid supplies.
JD and SD exchange puzzled glances.
"The MUSICAL group?" SD hazards a guess.
"Oh, for PITY'S SAKE," Rabid snarls, "You know the constitution...the part where it says 'I don't have to answer your stinking police questions'?"
"It's okay," JD soothes, "I get confused sometimes too...working for the FBI and all...Now, where were we? Oh, yeah...the routine questioning of the suspected serial killer...uhmmm....question 27...Passport?"
"Uhm...yeah, somewhere!"
"Some...where..." JD says, making a note, "Okay, question #28...Do you now or have you ever owned a Dirt Devil hand vacuum?"
"WHAT?"
"We have a blip on the heart monitor," SD informs, "She's lying about something!"
"Worth pursuing this line of questioning?" JD asks SD. The mad scientist consults her equipment shrugs and then nods.
"Alright, Rabid," JD snarls, leaning in close to the librarian, his breath hot on her cheek, "If that is even your REAL NAME...Tell me about your hand-held vac fetish...have you ever gotten up at night to clean? How often do you change the dustbag? When was the last time you detailed your venetian blinds? Admit it, Rabid...you have a DUST ALLERGY...you hate MITES...have always HATED them?"
"Are you insane?" Rabid asks the now panting, JD, "What does my dust allergy have to do with killing six penguins in Patagonia? Isn't that the crime you people have trumped up to drag me in on? And btw, it was KS that murdered those penguins."
"They were PUFFINS, you twisted Mucus producing fiend!THEY....WERE....PUFFINS!!!"
"Whatever...it is a stupid crime and this is an equally stupid line of questioning."
"I told you already," JD sighs, "I don't make the rules...I just carry them out with mindless rigidity."
"Wow! Now her heartrate is down to nothing," SD comments. The Aussie leans over to tug on the wires of her lie detector, she bangs on the top and side of the machinery and then announces, "Ohhh...whoops...I must have had a few wires crossed...better just disregard that last line of questioning JD...glitch in the system."
"OH!" JD says looking anywhere but at Rabid, "Uhmm...okay then...Question #29: Have you ever put the stamp on a letter upside down?"
"Do you mean the letter was upside down?" Rabid asks, batting her eyelashes at JD, "Or do you mean the stamp itself was upside down? And what about sideways? Like if I turned the stamp on it's side? Would it matter if the stamp was extra big and wouldn't fit the regular way because the envelope was too small?"
"WHAT?" JD and SD chorus.
