Giltrap sometimes demonstrates custom made guitars for their makers at these guitar workshops. His guitar playing literally stopped me in my tracks. Then his humourous anecdotes got to me. Put me right off me stride and I didn't notice that all important unique capo and tuning method of his. Shame on me for not being the anorak I usually am.

This is a link to Chris Squire, bassist with Yes, talking about the first time he met Jimi Hendrix. It is quite interesting in itself, where he tells of the leading British guitar players realisation that Hendrix was thee guitar man and they were just mere guitar lads. Some book or another has Brian Jones telling (with a certain amount of glee), a very similar story to Squire. I guess by the time Hendrix hit the scene Brian didn't consider himself to especially be a guitarist, and therefore he could casually look on at the people who knew they were going to have to raise their game to get anywhere near Jimi.
