Darin's death was especially unfortuante, considering that his serious congenital heart condition had been successfully dealt with several years earlier. Unfortunately, his heart became infected after dental work and he delayed medical treatment until it was too late to save him. One of his best performances is "The Mack Is Back", a TV special that was done shortly before his death. He was reportedly in very poor health by then, but you'd never suspect it.
