I think Anna mentioned that in her book {for what it's worth}. That Brian just didn't feel strong enough to try to "fight" to get Frank replaced. So, he just continued to put up with a lot of stuff {and shoddy/incomplete workmanship} because it was just easier at the time....I think the beam in the kitchen almost falling on Anna {if that really happened} was the straw, so to speak. And Brian decided that he'd had enough...
