Subject: Why is Brian Demonised?

Why is Brian continually demonised for his rejection of his children and his woman-beating, when other stars of the 60's behaved in a similar fashion? John Lennon wasn't a great father to Julian and was a wife-beater. Hendrix apparently was the latter, and Mick slapped Marianne. This doesn't excuse ANY of them. They were all arseholes for behaving like that, but why is Brian demonised and the others aren't?
