Subject: Posting Pics to LARS

OK, I've seen this question asked a few times here: how do you post pics to LARS? So instead of having tips spread over several threads, I figured we could have a thread about it. Anyone with questions may post them here.

You need a picture host site in order to post your photos to LARS. Photobucket gets mentioned often, for very good reasons. It's well designed and easy to use, and it only takes a minute to open a free account. If, for any reason, you do not want to use Photobucket, there are others out there. Google "photo hosting site" or something similar to find them.

Since I use Photobucket, my explanation will be based on the use of that host site.

Once your account is created, you will need to upload your pics from your computer. Locate the green "Upload Now" button (the problem with free accounts is that you get lots of advertising garbage to wade through). Click on that, then click on "Select photos and videos". Go to where your pic is located on your computer and upload it.

Put your mouse over the photo you want to post to LARS. A window will appear with 4 code options at the bottom. Go to the "HTML Code" (the 3rd one in the list) and left-click on it with your mouse. That will copy the code. All that's left for you to do is to paste it in your LARS message (click on "Edit" in the upper left-hand part of the screen, then click on "Paste").

I suggest you click on "Preview" at the bottom of the message typing box, just to check that everything is as it should be. If you see your picture, you can hit "Send".

It may look a little complicated at first, but it really isn't. Try it!
