You could be on to something, blimey. I had a discussion with a friend a couple of years ago who'd had the happy opportunity to meet Bill Wyman and asked him, for curiosity's sake, about Brian Jones.

He said Bill told him to please not ask him anything about Brian Jones. He couldn't discuss anything that happened during the band's earliest years with anyone, as part of his agreement for leaving the Stones. That sounded odd to me, but that's what he told my friend. They then went on to discuss the Rhythm Kings.

I wonder if he had to take extra care in reporting about Brian in his book??? Perhaps that's really why his report seemed so "even" to everyone. He may have had to have it approved by the Stones Organization, but there's no way he'd ever confirm THAT idea! I guess I'm just naturally suspicious.
