Hi all, Yes I remember seeing that clip, it was an appearance on the "Ed Sullivan show" in 1966. I saw it air live, actually in'66, as, yes, I am old.

The Stones are singing live on the air to a pre-recorded backing track (Note: Brian's and Bill's guitars are NOT plugged in!). I don't think it's the official record version; I think they may have pre-recorded another version in the recording studio specifically for this show as Brian hurt his hand while "climbing" - uh , was that AFTER he tried to punch out Anita Pallenberg and hit a brick wall,, but anyway, he was unable to play.

We used to call those versions TV mixes, so the TV stuido techs wouldn't need to set up an entire band for the airing, just vocal m.ics; today, it's called "Karaoke".

I do think Brian played on this song on the record, as he fingers and mimes all the chord shapes exactly, and on time.
