Unfortunately, a "must hear" record for one person, is a "bunch of drivel" to someone else. I once heard a review of my favorite Roy Wood album, Mustard, that the reviewer called "drivel". Roy has re-done "Boulders" on a CD, but not "Mustard".

I've been listening to old albums lately too, and it's interesting that you said you'd seen Arthur Lee in his last performance. I knew Arthur Lee personally, back in the day when his band "Love" had their two big hits. The drummer on "Little Red Book" and part of "7 & 7 Is" was Alban Pfisterer (called Snoopy), my best friend at art school. He took me to Bido Lito's one night when the band was playing there. Did you know that Arthur grew up in the same town as Jimmy Hendrix? He and Johnny, his lead guitarist, lived within a few blocks of Jimmy. I've been playing the old Love albums, and found out their tall, blond guitarist, Bryan Maclean had gone to New York after Love had broken up and joined Bob Dylan's church. Bryan was very spiritual (I used to think he was a "space cadet") and created an album of God-centered works called "Intra Muros". I ordered it from Amazon, and it's phenominal! If you're a spiritual person, I highly recommend it.

I asked his sister's permission to sing one of the songs on the album at my church (Bryan passed away in 1998), and perfomed "Only You Do" on my trusty Les Paul...which just so happened to match the color scheme in the sanctuary that day. Some things are just meant to be.
