I agree that the island cured Jin as it did Locke, but I was wondering if we were going to ever learn what the deal is with that and why the island has miraculous healing powers.

I don't think a few years is going to make much difference as far as the adult actors go. Actors often play well below or above their real age. Plus didn't I read a long time ago that the series would have a fairly limited run. Four years or something I seem to recall is what Abrams had in mind. Of course ABC would put pressure on him to continue the series until the stories have run dry and no one cares anymore. LOL That's the American tv way!
