Do you have a dish? What sort of television do you have? I tape off a television with a built-in VCR which is connected to a DISH network receiver. It took a while to figure it out (with my share of getting the wrong programs like you were mentioning) but maybe I can help with the programming stuff. Maybe an instant messaging session would work?
