First we should cover what to do before putting the boots on. Most boots now are a rather sticky rubber, so the best thing to do is coat the inside of the boots with some sort of powder, talcum perhaps. If you're like me and you don't like the smell of most powders, you could use baking flower, or even dirt, but try to find fine grain...dust-like, or you risk scratching your figure's feat. Getting boots off that seem to want to take your figure's foot with it....well, often times the rubber needs to be softened up, heat expands, and the softened rubber has more give. So...use a hair-dryer, or stick your figure's foot & boot under your thigh as you sit for a few minutes talking on the telephone...pretty much any source of warmth to soften that devil up. I doubt I need to mention this, but just in case, please make sure you're careful not to apply too much heat, from a source such a hair-dryer, obviously melting the boot and or foot will only compound your troubles. Hope this helps.

  • I always get good results from putting the boot under a hot tap or standing the figure in hot water for a couple of minutes. Quick and simple and better for those of us who have no use for hairdryers! (NT) -- PBI, 08:09:31 01/08/03 Wed
