look up the statute for civil theft. Send out the demand letter required by certified mail. Wait 30 days. file a complaint in appropriate court based on total of your damages. With civil theft it is 3X actual damages.

Allege civil theft, conversion.

I guess the police did not do anything.

You should probably hire an attorney.
