Subject: Two Verbals

Is Newark's 6'6" Javon McCrea one of the junior verbals referenced by the Buffalo News?

It would be great if Javon were one of our verbal commits. I saw him play in the sectionals and he's raw but extremely gifted athletically, a big strong kid who can dominate at times. He's attracted lots of interest already as a rising junior. He's also Greg Logins' cousin, so that's a nice connection.

Javon McCrea (So. PF, Newark (NY) High) He's a young sophomore, but already has a mature body that he uses well inside. In the 15-under final, he was an enforcer inside as he owned the boards and blocked several shots. Offensively, his post game needs work, but he made several nice interior passes and faced the basket well.
