BBD, these are 20 year old kids, they don’t know what they want and it is the staff’s job to give these kids direction and keep them in check. Clearly Reese has an ego problem, but with a guy like Eddie Shannon on the staff who was a very good player and has played with some of the best, the staff should’ve been able to get Reese in check or at a minimum get him through this season to explore other options if they decided that’s what is best for both parties.

So what I am saying is yes, that is 100% on the staff. You can’t place blame on the players...if they are provided with opportunities and the direction is clearly communicated, there is no reason for a player to be tossed halfway through a season.

Going back to when Isaiah announced he would test the NBA waters, whoever was advising this young man ( and I doubt it was anyone on the coaching staff ), they didn’t do him any favors. His play and attitude since then have not been stellar.

No one knows the facts of the situation. All this assignment of blame one way or the other is nonsense and pure conjecture .Go Griffs.

I suspect Reese fully earned getting tossed. Why would they want to get rid of their best player? But I don’t know any more than the next fan. Go Griffs.

Agree completely. Reggie is a weak, prideful man and did not allow his coaches to mediate his quarrel with a 20 y/o student athlete. A disgraceful lack of leadership at a Jesuit college

[> [> Reese -- The coaching staff is accountable, Sun, February 24 2019, 13:00:25

This staff is should have been able to manage the situation. Second talented player (Kassius, Isaiah) who has packed up and left. This doesn’t help to build our brand. This season has been exhausting; way too much drama. Not sure what we will do with the 2 remaining games and MAAC tourney but let’s not offer any extensions. We all deserve better.

Kassius Robertson transferred to Missouri to play at a higher profile school/conference to get more exposure for his professional basketball aspirations. How is that in any way similar to the Isaiah Reese situation, where a player is suspended indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team? Two totally different players and situations. Talk about apples and oranges.

Reggie benched Kassius when he struggled in the MAAC Tourney. The fans and BN noted that this could be a tipping point for him to leave. Yes, Kassius left to play at another level but that situation caused a rift. It might be apples & oranges but we can’t seem to keep our premier players. Zach Lewis, Kassius Robinson and now Isaiah Reese. Don’t care how you slice it, we need to create a better environment / culture. Not sure this coaching staff gets it; they do nothing to connect with alumni, boosters or students. And you wonder why the place is empty. That stupid sign behind the bench of not bothering the players and not being able to ask about Reese without being banished from Koessler. Something is wrong.
