Hats off to both the UB men’s and women’s basketball teams. Fun to watch how they will fare in the NCAA . And the Bona men may be there also. Great representation for WNY.

Will someone tell me how Bona can recruit top freshman to Olean and Griffs can't get any.

Easy answer, arena, game atmosphere and higher level league, now also a pretty good run of good teams and a highly respected coach also add to ability to attract good recruits, not every recruit will be ok in Olean but obviously enough are, you have to attend a couple Bona games to understand the game atmosphere and what that generates, Bona gets a good amount of students at games , but it is the locals and season ticket holders that keep it all moving forward on a regular basis and creates the attendance they get even when students are gone.

We play in a very low rated league, in a small venue, with poor attendance, and virtually no students present. That is a hard sell to prospective recruits. An Atlantic 10 game in front of 5-6,000 rabid fans is hard to compete with. We have to get lucky with leftovers and kids no one else is recruiting. And I do not see any evidence that this current coaching staff is developing these players very well.

Play in a better conference, make a bigger commitment when it comes to athletics and greater expectations when it comes to their basketball program.

Disappointed Griffs turned down a CBI bid. West Virginia, UAB and Southern Miss didn't think it was below them.Is it because we are too cheap or Reggie just wanted the season over. Either way, I think it was a bad decision. Its not every year you get the chance to play in the post season. How about Falkner, Sankes,Lotts, could have extended their Canisius career's.

We played the top schools in the beginning and we fell short; it did nothing to prepare us for the next level. We barely beat Manhattan and couldn’t get over the hump against Monmouth. Not sure the reason but this team was a true enigma all the talent in the world and couldn’t get it done. For me it has something to do with the chemistry and the coaching. Let’s use that money wisely vs. getting beat and hearing how low their energy was. Been there done that!

We have a losing record. I've not seen anywhere that we were even offered a CBI bid.

West Virginia went 14- 20, they weren't too proud. You extend your season and maybe something good comes out of it.

Yesterday, the Bflo News reported the sub-500 Griffs withdrew their name from CBI consideration. I'm still giggling over that one.

In other news, I will be withdrawing my name from the NFL AND NBA drafts.
