Subject: Reggie needs to go

No logical person can think things are heading in the right direction. Why are we going to suffer through 1-2 years of horrible teams and then fire him. Do it now! Please!

I'm glad we have a D-1 team. It will be bad if Canisius drops to D-3 and we are playing Bryant and Stratton.

There wont be a coaching this year and probably not next either. Reggie has a winning record and the College is not in a position to buy out his remaining two years. This past season was a mess that was made even more of a mess by a lack of connection between Reggie and the staff with the students, alumni and the fan base in general. That's where the Cage Club was especially important. I have a sense of Reggie from his deep connection with the Buffalo hoops scene. He has a "good guy" reputation. He has been cordial to me in "hi coach" exchanges in the couple of times I have passed him in a hallway at KAC, but I have no idea who the assistant coaches are as people. That was never the case before in my experience. There were high expectations for this season. We knew the early FSU and tournament games would be a tough challenge. But I think the expectation was the team would be ready, would play hard, smart basketball and maybe win a game or even two. But that didn't happen. But I would be surprised if those games weren't "money games" that brought a couple of nice checks to CC. For the rest of the season the team had a decent record, but overall seemed to lack energy and focus IMO. The playoffs, meh. There was also the internal soap opera going on. The result is estrangement between the program and the fan base IMO. I don't agree that the MAAC is a "low major" conference or a "new age juco". To draw an equivalency between PBs' and RWs' records is a false equivalency. D2 is not D1 period. The challenge for Reggie now is to get the mess cleaned up and the program back on the rails. I hope he can do that and wish him success.

A coaching change isn’t going to make the team win any more.
A coaching change isn’t going to make underclassmen conference all-stars NOT transfer up.
This is as good as it gets for a Low Major conference. The quality of the conference is getting worse because of young talent using it as a “new age juco” to move up. It’s not Reggie’s fault. Beilein and Reggie have the exact same league winning % after 3 years (.642).
Some guys just want to fire people every year...Get over it!

Some people on this site just don't get it. Reggie, after three seasons with the Griffs has several more wins than loses. His team tied for the MACC two years ago, and last year he finished in second place despite the loss of Reece regarded by many as his best player. No way is Maher going to fire Reggie, so please stop this nonsense. Now I know you're concerned about next season. Please wait and see what happens in the next few weeks of recruiting. Chances are good the Griffs with 5 scholarships to award will bring in some talent that will certainly help. Please be patient, and give the staff a chance. go Griffs!!!

Let's see what happens. This season was just as exhausting as watching the SABRES. I know that we're actively recruiting but we should have had some announcements by now. No news on visits or any signed letters on intent. It's tough being all jacked up for next season when we witnessed a total collapse the back half of the year.

Hey, the team won 15 games, and with a little luck ,could have had a 20 win season. I just can't understand why some fans think the Griffs will do better with a coaching change. Let's see what happens in the 2019/20 season. Maher would look foolish if he dumped a coach with winning numbers. Go Griffs!!!

You couldn’t be more wrong...

New age JUCO, it’s the way it is, you won’t get more wins, etc.

You both have been fleeced by this organization! How you can say “let’s see what happens in the next few weeks of recruiting” is crazy. Do you know when recruiting began? hint: it wasn’t last week...or last month. There has been zero moves and it’s become apparent that we just hope to find diamonds in the rough as we sort through the scraps.

I understand that some of your better talent is going to leave prior to the senior year, but a) you should have enough talent in the pipeline that dips in production are sustainable and b) YOU DON’T SUSPEND OR CHASE AWAY YOUR BEST PLAYERS

I am absolutely cheering for these kids (not the staff), but when they drop to a PIG this year and go out first round I’ll 100% be saying I told you so. Pat Beilein is about to turn NU around, but “a coaching change won’t get you more wins”

if we had made a change this year. Niagara made the change after signing Casey to an extension. We're stuck with him but we shouldn't sign an extension.

The problem is that Reggie is at the tail end of his career . He knows damn well that his career is not going to advance beyond the MAAC . As a result , he will do just enough not to get fired , in the meantime the program will slowly continue to slip . An older coach in a crappy conference like the MAAC is just gonna ride it out . He's taking a page out of the Baron playbook.
