This is a different day and age when it comes to Mid-Major (especially lower) teams across the country. They try to set up these kids for success to graduate early, and most times Master's degree's within a 4 year span-this sets everyone up to be able to transfer before their 4-year career is up. From an outside perspective-I saw a guy who had NBA aspirations who wasn't playing very well. I'm sure he was getting some heat from the coaching staff, he had expectations of being Player of the Year and was trying to go to the NBA. I think coaches around the country have to try to plan what they will/would do if better players leave because if they think they can take the next step, they will leave. As for the scheduling-they tied for 1st the year before and had almost all their key parts coming back for the following year-any coach would try to step up the OOC schedules and try to get in better tournaments to better suit themselves for the year. The fact that they laid an egg was absolutely a disappointment, but going and playing in a tournament of junk teams (especially if they didn't win), would have been no better. I think it is fair to have expectations of a Coaching staff and not like how closed off from the alumni they are, but to completely blame them for 2 of the best players to leave when they already seemed to have their eyes on bigger and better things is absurd.

Old Griff, I think that mean teacher in your one-room school house whacked you too hard with the ruler back in the day!
